What is ASE Certification and Why Is It Important?
In the mid-1980s, Sears found itself the subject of unwanted attention when its automotive service found itself broiled in the scandal. Its service center had gained a reputation for breaking things to fix them later and charging customers to perform unoffered services. To help correct the problem, they made all of the mechanics gain ASE certifications.
ASE certifications are offered by the Automotive Service Excellence Organization. ASE opened its doors in the 1970s with the goal of improving and testing automotive mechanics and technicians.
