When Land Rover took the wraps off the 2018 Velar in Geneva, drivers and enthusiasts immediately fell in love with its refined exterior design and tech-and-premium upholstered cabin. Where other models emphasize adventure and sportiness, the Velar is all about elegance and sophistication.

But what’s behind this state-of-the-art midsize SUV? A video from Land Rover USA, found above, does a good job of laying out what many are calling one of most evocative since the Evoque vaulted onto the scene. It rides on the brand’s new, lightweight architecture which is 80-percent aluminum balanced out with steel and magnesium. Plenty of aerodynamic work went into the development, too, giving the Velar a miniscule drag coefficient of 0.32. Inside, Land Rover has also employed plenty of recyclable, synthetic materials to decrease this good looking SUV’s carbon footprint.

Watch the video above to learn more about how the Velar was developed. To give it a test drive, all it takes is a call to our Land Rover dealership in Glenwood Springs, CO. We’d be happy to take you for a test drive.
