We have all seen that dirty car in the parking lot that looks like it has years of dirt caked on it. The finish is dull, maybe the paint is even chipping. People don't think that dirt can damage the finish on a car and it can. Moisture is what causes dirt to stick. And by skipping the washing, dirt just continually sticks on top of the existing moisture and dirt. As you drove down the highway, the wind that your car gets, causes the dirt to move around on the surface creating tiny scratches. As time goes on, those small scratches become larger ones. When it gets to that point, it can compromise the paint on the car. And that becomes a more costly fix later on.
Once the clear coat is gone on the car, nothing is protecting the paint at all. And over time that paint wears off like the clear coat. You don't want a rusty car, so get out there and get it washed.
