March 29,2009 Bangs Canyon The Tabeguache Trail is an epic route in western Colorado that connects the cities of Grand Junction and Montrose via a long, scenic route through the Uncompahgre Plateau. As it passes through mountain canyons, the trail's elevation varies by over 5,000 feet, and some portions of the route are very steep or technically difficult. Remarkable scenery, solitude, and an abundance of wildlife can also be found on this trip.
We will drive about a 10 mile route on the beginning of this trail. It is rated as a moderate trail with some ledges, rock sections and slickrock steps. When this trail is wet, it can be very challenging.

Battlement Mesa Trail. This is a great drive through the Aspens on a warm sunny day. This is a moderate trail with some mud, root sections and the infamous rock garden. The rock garden has a bypass, so whoever wants to try it can, and the rest of us can watch and take pictures. With all of the ups and downs on this trail, you will get a good lesson in how your Land Rover’s gearing and braking systems work.

Flattops wilderness. There are a lot of people who have not explored the Flat Tops above
Glenwood Springs and for that reason, it feels very remote. There are many alpine lakes and in this huge area you can make some great driving loops with excellent views. This is a great beginner trip and fun for the experts who like to learn new places. We will start at the Land Rover Centre and after some instruction, hit the road!
